Sales and Business Development Specialist June 2023 - present
Forge Labs Advanced Manufacturing, Burnaby BC
Project Management - Coordinate production of complex multi-part assemblies from design through to production, finishing, and shipment logistics while managing relationships with customers and 3rd party suppliers.
Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM) - Review customer parts for manufacturability, provide feedback or modify CAD directly to optimize for specific material and technology requirements. This often includes design and production of custom jigs and fixtures.
Technical Sales - Leverage my knowledge of the full complement of technologies and materials in order to guide inbound leads towards ideal material and technology selections.
Marketing and Communications - Regularly develop on-brand assets and layouts for the Forge Labs website, produce SEO optimized blog posts and newsletters and engage one-on-one with clients in person to guide and educate them about additive manufacturing. Produced comprehensive design guidelines for all in-house technologies, as well as standardized web pages for every material.
Industrial Designer + Additive Manufacturing Specialist Feb 2020 - present
Forge Labs Advanced Manufacturing, Burnaby BC
Lead SLA technician for 3 years - Managed production and CAD optimization of all parts made using Stereolithography process, along with machine calibration, maintenance and SLA lab development. Built a dedicated medical post-processing lab to enable creation of USP Class VI biomedical components, resulting in multiple ongoing production contracts.
Provide support to other departments (FDM, SLS, PJM, DMLS)
Resin Casting Lead - Manage production of vacuum cast components using 3D printed molds.
Facility Development - My construction and carpentry experience makes me the go-to person for interior/exterior modifications.
Industrial Designer 2017 - present
Ron Luther Design, Vancouver BC
Product design and development, using hands-on and outsourced manufacturing to prototype, iterate and scale product concepts.
Built a custom 3-axis CNC router and programmed toolpaths in order to prototype wood and aluminum electronics enclosures.
Designed and produced highly complex multi-part rigid and silicone molds for vacuum and pressure casting of various resins around precisely aligned internal electronics.
Provided custom interior and furniture design services to various clients, specializing in audio production studios.
Lead Sound Designer Feb 2016 - Mar 2017
Skunkwerks Kinetic, Vancouver BC
Led the creation and implementation of all sound and music assets in a science fiction game environment. Worked with engineers to develop proprietary audio behaviour, such as novel event scripts and context- sensitive generative music. Captured field recordings to provide high fidelity assets for a deeply immersive experience.
Provided research-driven technical writing support to ensure that all world and plot elements were based in science and internally consistent.
Designed and 3D modelled industrial design and architectural assets for the game environment.
Assistant Designer + Technical Coordinator Oct 2012 - Feb 2016
Molo Design, Vancouver BC
Prototyped and developed several new products that continue as standard offerings. This involved working with dedicated manufacturers on proprietary honeycomb construction, low voltage PCB design for lighting control and custom LED arrays, as well as novel material exploration related to fire retardancy, mechanical properties, sustainability and aesthetic qualities.
Coordinated technical aspects of production facility, including setup and maintenance of tools, education and enforcement of safety policies, regular staff training on all aspects of production, and meticulous documentation of all standard procedures.
Fostered strong relationships with manufacturing partners, suppliers and certification entities, resulting in a reduction in errors, smoother flow of information and enthusiastic support of shared initiatives.
Achieved ETL electrical certification and the most stringent European M1 and B1 fire certifications for the entire line of products, opening up new international markets and significantly increasing market share.
Implemented a comprehensive quality control process for all products, including documentation, testing and segregation, standards definition, inspection processes and resolution strategies.

Education
Bachelor of Industrial Design 2010
Emily Carr University of Art and Design
Degree program focusing on physical product development, from conceptualization and research to iterative prototyping, refinement and manufacturing at scale. I leaned heavily into technical skill development, spending most of my time working with metal fabrication, sand casting, ceramics, wood working or electronics.
Diploma - Studio Art Program 2006
Capilano University
An intensive two year art program with emphasis on hands-on skill development. This is where I learned how to weld, design and build molds, and cast in bronze, among many other things.
